Misleading, deceptive commercials
Have you seen the truck commercial that drops 30,000lbs of force into the bed of a truck. Naturally, one would be amazed that the truck could hold that much. The trick here is to translate pounds of force into actual weight. One could talk to a physics professor, but if I remember correctly, Force= mass x acceleration Without getting to technical, and using just the numbers, force is the 30,000 mass is what we are calculating acceleration is that of the dropped object about 15 for ease 30,000=15xmass or 30,000/15= mass which comes to 2000lbs. Which is one ton. Which is what a normal pickup truck carries-up to one ton. But this way does not sell trucks. But it is a bit deceiving. Then there is the truck that is chained and a locomotive is pulling it as it is held by mietal poles. Now, should the truck chassis or the chain pull apart first. If the chassis did it would definitely prove it to be a poor truck chassis. Does lasting longer than the chain really prove how strong the chassis is? Not really. Then there is the car commercial with the song "He's a Maniac" playing as a not great looking man gyrates and rubs his body somewhat seductively (or sickening) and also does a pelvic thrust or two at a male customer. Not getting into gay rights, which they have, but this was a bit nauseating to me. Maybe it is just me. But I refuse to watch the commercial, and always timed bathroom breaks when it came on.

Contributor's Note
We as consumers need to be careful of the slight of hand used by advertisers and to make sure that ads are ethical and truthful. Misleading or making the viewer think something different then what is truth in my opinion is not okay.
